From Grandparents Inside The Club

I am a new grandma and this community has been awesome for helping me stay active with my little one. Loving the classes so far, the instructor is so friendly and supportive. Having a group of grandparents to connect to is super important nowadays.

Ines M.Verified member

I want to be as young and active as possible for my age. I really like that this is about building a strong community and bringing similarly situated people together over things we have in common.

Steve K.Verified member

The adventures have made my grandson so excited whenever he comes to visit me.

Barbara L.Verified member

Seeing other grandparents online helping each other out has been my favorite part.

Randy H.Verified member

My living room is now known as “grandma’s fun zone” after using the printable games every Wednesday with my 2 year old grandson. He’s such a joy!

Here’s the thing

New Parents Get A Whole
Support System. Grandparents
Get Handed The Baby
And Told Good Luck.

Grandparents are doing more with their grandkids than any generation before them, and almost nothing exists to help.

A grandmother playing on the floor with her grandchild

Being a grandparent is one of the most special things in the world.

Most grandparents will say it’s even better than they expected, and that it’s the small things that surprise them. The way she calls out your name. The way he goes quiet against your shoulder as he falls asleep. The way a puddle or a leaf or a bird on the fence turns into an event, because it’s the first one they’ve ever seen.

Which makes it strange how little there is out there built to help grandparents make the most of it.

A grandmother caring for her grandchild in the kitchen

Babysitting stopped being a visit.

Grandparents who care for their grandchildren now average close to ten hours a week, around 511 hours a year, and 15% are doing it daily or almost every day. That’s not popping round on a Sunday. That’s a shift, and nobody hands you a plan for it.

An empty playground on a grey afternoon

It’s the same outings every time.

Most grandparents describe the same handful of places. The walk round the block, the park, the shops, the garden. Lovely the first twenty times. By the fiftieth, everybody’s a bit bored of the swings.

Rain on a window with toys on the floor

The wet Wednesday is the hard one.

Grandkids arrive at two, it’s raining outside, and you’ve got four hours to fill with a grandbaby who has endless energy. That’s the afternoon nobody has an answer for.

A grandmother and grandchild walking together

The more you see them, the better it is for everyone.

78% of grandparents who see their grandchildren most days say they hardly ever feel isolated, compared with 65% of those who see them every few months. More reasons to get together turn out to matter to both ends of the relationship.

A mother and baby group

Meanwhile, every new mom has a whole support system.

A group at the library. A class on Tuesdays. Six friends with babies the same age and a chat that never stops. Somewhere to ask what on earth to do with a two-year-old when it’s raining.

Grandparents get none of it. No group, no class, no chat, and nobody who’s been through the same Wednesday afternoon.

So we built one.

The part that means the most

Document Every Memory You Make With Them

Printed photographs of a grandmother and her grandchild spread across a kitchen table

One of the quieter things that happens inside the club is the photographs.

An adventure a week, an activity most days, and somewhere to post them means that after a month there’s a run of pictures that simply wouldn’t have existed otherwise.

  • The nature trail
  • The market
  • The pumpkin
  • The puddle

Members post them as they go, so there’s a record building without anyone setting out to build one.

Plenty of them print the photos afterwards.

Making sure you feel your best for the moments that matter most

Gentle Daily Movement, Built Around Grandparenting

The third part of the club is the movement, and it’s taught by a physical therapist rather than a fitness instructor.

The 6-Week Active Grandparent Journey

The 6-Week Active Grandparent Journey

Five minutes a day, built around what grandparenting asks of you rather than around a workout. Week one is simply finding out where you’re starting from.

  • Where you are now
  • Carrying
  • Stairs & balance
  • Long days
  • Recovery
  • Putting it together
A grandmother doing a gentle movement beside a dining chair

No gym. No mat. No activewear.

Movements you do beside a dining chair in whatever you happen to have on. There’s a seated version of every single one.

A live call with grandparents from across the country

Live calls every week

Devin hosts, a room full of grandparents turns up, and you can bring a question or just listen in. A bothersome shoulder, a movement to modify after a knee replacement, and she answers it properly.

They’re recorded, so missing one costs you nothing.

New movement routines added every month

And it keeps going after the six weeks

New routines are added every month, so it isn’t a course you finish and forget.

The Active Grandparents Club member feed

There are hundreds of grandmothers and grandfathers in the club.

  • New grandparents
  • Great-grandparents
  • One grandchild
  • Six grandchildren

What they all have in common is showing up in the feed with a photo of a weekend hike, a trip to the market, or cozy days at home.

Questions

Everything Else You Might Be Wondering

Getting started

Do I need a Nivaro carrier to join?

No. The club works entirely on its own. Every activity, recipe, printable and adventure is yours whether you have a carrier or not, and all sixteen Carrier Bingo squares are things you can do on foot. If you do have a ComfortLift, the use guide is in there for you too.

Do I need to be good with computers?

No. It’s a website you sign into with your email address. Large text throughout, and there’s a short guide that walks through where everything lives. If anything sticks, email support@mynivaro.com and a person will help you.

Do I need to be fit?

No, and that’s rather the point. Every movement has a seated version, and week one is simply about finding out where you’re starting from.

How old should my grandkids be?

The printable games and coloring pages are marked for ages 6 months to 8 years. The activities and recipes stretch wider than that, and plenty of members have grandchildren on both ends.

What if I can’t get out much?

Plenty of the activities are indoors and close to home, and the movement is all done at home. Getting out is one part of the club, not the whole of it.

Do I have to post photos of my grandkids?

Not at all. Plenty of members post a path, a leaf or an empty park bench instead, and plenty just read. Entirely up to you.

What if I miss a week?

Nothing happens. Nothing expires and nothing resets. Everything is still there when you come back.

Is it just grandmothers?

No. There are grandfathers in there too.

What if I can’t make the weekly call?

They’re recorded, and you can post your question beforehand and read the answer afterwards.

Billing

What does it cost?

Nothing for the first 30 days. Then $19.99 a month.

When am I charged?

On day 31, and not before. Cancel any time in the first thirty days and you’re never charged at all.

How do I cancel?

From your account in a couple of clicks, or by emailing support@mynivaro.com. No phone call, no form, no reason required.

What happens to my things if I cancel?

Anything you printed is yours to keep. Access to the member area and the community ends at the end of your billing period.
